A sail close to the wind...

Amid covid 19, it's a low profile journey to any tourist destination..This time it's  nelliympathy, Palakkad dist., Kerala..
Place is unfamiliar with deserting of tourists... had seen better days...To look on the bright side, untouched by tourists for months, the wildness of jungle and scenic beauty enhanced to  a great extent..A feast for the eyes...
Those tea factory outlets were yet to be opened for tourists...Roads were empty.. Inhabitants of jungle seemed to enjoy the bestowed freedom... thanks to the pandemic..
Covid taught us to travel with packed food for long distances as a Social distancing measure though restaurants and tuck shops are  always appetizing..
A leech  rose to the  occasion to stuck to my feet ferociously, in an attempt to  suck blood out of my vein, as it's a rare treat for them nowadays..
Most of the tourists just made their way restricted to suicide point popularly known as 'Seethar kundu'..Most natural one can say, second to none..In just a couple of steps away, with no boundaries, you are in to abyss ..One would wonder if the place we stood got any support underneath..It's as if walking on a thin piece of mud on void space..No wonder, over the years the  pathway that we did photoshoot could vanish in to vacuum...
With the absence of tourists, the place is even more horrifying.. One would wonder if a heavy breeze could push you down to endless depth..Scenes from there are heavenly..Some monkeys were posing for our selfie as if  they knew it would be incomplete without them..Their facial expression demanded us not to bother them in their acquired freedom...
While returning we could understand why the policemen at the entry point cautioned us to get down the hill before 6 pm,  as the roads were a  free place for wild animals who at times crossed the roads at their own pace.. Got massive Adrenaline rush when the feeling of being alone crept in....literally had the heart in the  mouth when a wild deer stood across the road and spotted a small herd of elephants at less than a fair distance...
Altogether it's a mixed bag..Wish to go to the place again, embrace the beauty and  dissolve in the wilderness when the worry of   pandemic cease to  exist and the tourist life is back to normal...
