Outgrowing God..

Image
Outgrowing God by Richard Dawkins www.penguin.co.uk A work with lot of insight and exploration...The book calls for a thorough reading..It questions many stereotypes..A tolerant reader would find it intriguing... Starting from inherent contradictions in the holy books and the fading away of ancient gods with time, Dawkins establishes his atheist view with precision..backed by scientific evidence he proves his point..'Natural selection' of Darwin occupies a prominent place in the book to overthrow the popular perception of a divine creator.. Even an ardent believer will be bewildered to see the convincing interpretations doubting the very existence of God.. He rightly says about the impact of 'childhood indoctrination' an hindrance for unshackling of imprisoned religious belief injected from birth.. In the second part, expatiation on evolution may look as if he missed a trick  in an attempt to clarify too much but then that fit for the purpose to suff

Parun thumpara' undoubtedly blessed with scenic beauty..one of its kind..Those land scapes with hair raising steeps bet you be on cloud nine..Icing on the cake is the off roading experience to touch the heap tops with own vehicle.. a literal ego trip...wagamon, parun thumpara , vandi periyar, theni ... a perfect package for two days...

Teachers training..

Image
Teachers Training Programme..They are  dab hands in their own chosen areas...But for some time they pretended as if they were toddlers..Salute their attitude...made my job as a walk in the park...It was by far a memorable one..🙏

Mourning..

Image
Going to be part of history..A snapshot just hours before the last breath of Alfa..At point blank range possible for onlookers..the place resembles that of a cemetery..Tears and sorrow filled  the air...Sad plight of the home sweet home-the  pride of occupants once upon a time...Of course, a deserving hang till death for a culprit..But then...  Is he and his friends are  the only ones found  guilty?!!...Alas!..All are supposed to be equal before law...but some are more equal...No wonder the woman of justice is blindfolded with a black ribbon.... RIP Alfa & friends🙏

Mamangam...

Image
Mamangam,  the "all time big budget" in Malayalam, unwittingly run out of steam and is more like a documentary..   Those who go to cinema bells on  expecting an action packed movie will be disappointed to see a 90% dialogue packed one..   Mammootty, a class act , through the decades with his versatile roles, just lacks the agility  for a die hard warrior.. undoubtedly a big ask on the legend at his age..   Much proclaimed his feminine character and the dance sequence never appealing..He deserves a better treatment..   Fight scenes didn't cause a stir as it  lacks timing and acting is  evident.. Pathetically, those flying scenes reminds you of 'sakthi man' as some still photographs flying than a power packed warrior jump...A big credibility gap.   Of course, those warrior sending scenes, unnimukundan, the kid, siddique, songs etc. get you some consolation..   Audience raise eyebrows as to why in the last scene- the all out fight- hero took a back stage waiting to c

Kerala blasters....live

Image
Roaring stadium..Crazy fans..Live match...Feeling of oneness... Unmatchable experience..   But in the treatment to common fans and vips, there is a world apart..The main gates are only for VIPs and the fans have to take side ways crossing  muddy, dark and waterlogged areas..The toilets and seats are unhygienic...Have to make sure atleast adequate drinking water when they don't allow you to carry anything inside   If you can't go as a VIP then just be glued to your TV, let the organisers know, it's for the common man they run it...let them learn to 'give respect and take respect'..Not meant  to take away the spirit of the game or love of the game.. A big fan of the game..🙏

Helen..

Image
Saw the new release Malayalam movie ' HELEN' which resembles 'cast away' (released in Dec2000) of Tom Hanks,  for which he was nominated as the best actor in a leading role..Both movies resolve around the theme of 'survival of the Fittest'..   In the first half it's an easy going melodrama..With average music and day to day happenings of a mediocre family which we can definitely associate with our own neighbourhood..And the struggle for daily bread, balancing act of job and work, behind the screen struggles of cheerful faces in the hubs and mall.. all blend bell   It's the post intermission that the audience are at the edge of their seats till the climax. And the roller coaster at times have the heart in your mouth..To mention, the little act of kindness in the face of death,  by far catch your emotions..   Based on a true story that we heard in many 'interpersonal relation building' classes- of a scientist being trapped in the fact

An apology..

Owe You An Apology....Sahala.. It requires a big heart..Let's not fight tooth and nail against those young buds who have responded in the thick of things...It is going to weaken our case. it will only add fuel to fire...   It's not the time for us to trumpet our achievemets , sacrifice or noble profession we do...It's the time that we stand united to extend our sincere apology to the deceased... Mistakes can happen as we are just human beings..A fault confessed is half redressed  For a moment let's put ourselves in the shoes of  those parents who lost their hope..For everyone outside it's just one of the many cases..But for the affected ones it's their only case...They lost apple of  their eyes..If it had happened to our dear and near ones, could we be that cool, calm and collected? ! Can we give a cold shoulder?!   Fact of the matter is that something went wrong..We lost a life..Let's not put children on the other side..Let's not forget if it's not

Illickal kallu...

Image
Illickal kallu.. Not sure if it's the right time to go there..It's all parched and brown..The place demands a lot of attention.... Authorities ought to give a good look..Narrow roads, unattended pathway to the crest, untidy washrooms, and the list goes on...when there is an entry ticket basic amenities are our right...Ilaveezha Poonchira, another scenic spot is just 7 kms away but the connecting roads are undrivable.. Of course nothing can take away the charm of the place..As natural as it can be..One wants to embrace it but have the heart in the mouth as accidents are just around the corner... Can't blame the tourists for venturing out but befitting safety measures are to put in place by the authorities..  The only ones who care about the place are those kind hearted Jeep drivers and tuck shop venders who out of their ways make you feel at ease.. Understandably they can't give a cold shoulder like others as they know it's their (only)means of livelihood

Friends forever....

Image
I have an aliyan.. A teacher,  who helped with my english when I could barely follow a word in english during my graduation days- I owe him for my language..  A hero,  who extended his helping hand when I was blacked out  and became rudderless  in a critical juncture of my life and death exam days...He raised to the occasion, sacrificed his time and energy unsefishly, to see me cross over-A pillar behind my success in the exam..  A kind hearted,  who handed  over  his only penny to a vagabond,  knowing that he had to stay back whole night at the railway station,  in want of money..  A friend,  who stood by me when he knew my life was taken for a toll-came all the way down to see me, to comfort me, to tell me that I could count upon him-Instill the confidence in me..     A GM, who in contrary to his academic grades bagged envious accomplishments in his professional life-He deserved it for his deeds..  Such is my aliyan..He can hate me, forget me or even break away ...But he would always

Anjaam Pathiraa..

Image
Anjaam Pathiraa..A crime thriller by all means..   Movie kick starts with the narration of  ecstacy of a ripper in doing what he craved for...Keep the momentum till the end..Climax..Anti climax..Beginning from the dead end..all set to have adrenaline rush   A cocktail of psychopath murderer and real life crimes that caught the very  headlines of  past -serial killing of ripper, perverted priest and his  illicit connections imposing a helpless man to be a scapegoat, atrocity and fake  encounter of police, psycho son's heinous murder of his parents- all fall into place..   One of the  movies where story, screenplay and direction make a big impact irrespective of who the actors are.. can endorse that the feel of trauma carries on even after you are out of the theatre..And you have a soft spot for the malefactor  who chanced his arm, though he had to kill some innocents in the process..That's after all the price he had to pay to tie up loose ends- to break every rule in

Talk of the town.. CAA-Citizenship(Amendment) act 2019

Image
CAA- Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019.. as simple as that..   Let's think of a place affected by drought...People suffer for a  living(refugees from Bangladesh, pak, Afghanistan, Srilanka, Nepal, Bhutan..etc ) and are in search of safe drinking water ( or rather breathing space)..   They heard of a nearby  house (india) where there is a well with unfailing water supply...They queued up for water. The number increased day by day..The owner of the house had  a condition that they should fill in water in the pots provided by him..(an eligible document for NRC- National register for citizenship)..   Years went by ..People of this joint family started worrying that they may run short of water and culture of them would be ruined by the continuing  presence of outsiders ...Then they persuaded the head of the family,  to allow those who have been taking water from so and so date, need only to be permitted...(Assam accord 1985 and and the promise made in that for NRC to identify and deport f

Jadayupara

Image
Jadayupara- Larger than life   It's a work of art...Worth every penny you spend..The cable car experience is out of the ordinary..An emerging tourist zone where signature of class is apparent everywhere..Still in the process of finishing touches and fine tuning...The place fits the bill for controlled adventure seekers ... First major BOT tourism initiative of the state and appreciably guests are treated with prudence and probity...A perfect tribute to the  mythical bird- World's largest bird sculpture..

Hi,    it's my view through my prism on everything that touches me and of some significance to society. I wish to put forward my unbiased and unalloyed view..   The theme of the dialogue  would be on anything that ignites me like reviews, travelogue, current affairs, education, politics, on abstract ideas and on any sensitive and burning issues   A drop of ink may make a million think...I felt the need of expression in a big way and express it loudly- hence the blog. It's easier to go with the flow and I don't want to take the easy way out- that's why myprismbinoy..  It's a diligent  effort of a newcomer in the field so to mention that your suggestions and guidance will be of immense value to my upbringing..
